A university center serving foreign students
CUEFEE is part of the International Relations Department of the University of Tours. Its main mission is to support foreign students in their learning of the French language and culture and to help them continue their studies in Tours. Three main aspects are addressed:
- language study;
- knowledge of culture;
- French for university objectives.
CUEFEE welcomes all foreign audiences at the university, as well as certain external audiences.
Quality programs and courses
CUEFEE is a member of the Association of Directors of University Centers for French Studies for Foreigners (ADCUEFE). This professional group of nearly 40 French universities offers French as a foreign language programs for foreign students and teachers and guarantees:
- the quality of teaching;
- the diversity of learning methods;
- the quality of reception and integration into the academic world;
- the richness of the cultural environment;
- the harmonization and recognition of certifications and diplomas.
Since 2007, the quality of CUEFEE training has been guaranteed by the “FLE Quality Label” issued by the FEI (France Education International) and recognized by the French ministries in charge of education and higher education and foreign affairs. The University Center for Teaching French for Foreign Students at the University of Tours is regularly audited as part of the renewal of this label.
CUEFEE welcomes all foreign audiences at the university as well as certain external audiences.
Some external audiences can take semester courses at CUEFEE. To do this, they must pass a French skills level test, which will direct them to appropriate level groups. Students with a level of French above C1 will not be able to take part in CUEFEE French as a Foreign Language courses.
